AltSnap does Alt-drag. TesseraSnap does the rest.
AltSnap is free and great at dragging from inside a window. TesseraSnap adds a key for every placement, free, and in Pro a throw gesture and layouts.
- Built in Rust
- About 2 MB, one process
- Free, no time limit
- Pro $9.99 once, per PC
Where TesseraSnap is better
AltSnap is mouse-first; TesseraSnap places windows by key, flick or saved layout.
A key for every placement
22 free shortcuts on Ctrl+Alt; press again for two thirds, then a third. AltSnap has no keys for halves or thirds.
Throw it, don't carry it
An Alt-drag goes where you let go. A throw is a short flick to one of 16 targets, with a footprint first.
Every window back in its place
Layouts find each window by program and title and restore on dock, wake or app start. AltSnap's layouts are zones to drop into.
- Move & Resize, with undo Any keys, no mouse button; Esc undoes. (Pro)
- No .ini to edit Snap areas and custom sizes are set in a Settings window.
- Pin Mode and Stash Dock a window beside the rest, or slide it off the edge. (Pro)

- moving and resizing from inside the window is all you are missing
- you want snapping to other windows, roll up or transparency
- you need open source, no cost or Windows 10 and older
Or run both
- TesseraSnap's Move & Resize is off until you pick keys, so AltSnap keeps Alt-drag.
- TesseraSnap's shortcuts are on Ctrl+Alt; AltSnap has no placement keys.
- If both snap the same drag, switch one off.
